Moon Over Miami

By Anna Griffin, Editor in Chief

A cosmopolitan metropolis for both business and pleasure, Miami has always been known for its stunning coastline, glamorous lifestyle, and good times. However, just a short distance away from the hustle and bustle of commerce and tourism, lies the beautiful Biltmore Hotel. A National Historic Landmark in the heart of Coral Gables, the Biltmore sits in 150 acres of lush, tropical landscape, and is renowned for its first-class amenities, such as their championship golf course, award-winning cuisine, tennis courts, European spa, fitness center, and swimming pool, which is the largest hotel pool on the East Coast of the United States. Famous for its old-school luxury, the Biltmore has been a favorite hideaway of world leaders and celebrities since its opening in 1926, and has hosted guests including President Franklin D. Roosevelt, Hollywood glitterati like Ginger Rogers, Judy Garland, and Bing Crosby, and even Al Capone.

As our health has now become a priority while living through Covid, the Biltmore has responded by invigorating its wellness program to help guests disconnect from the stresses of daily life. Named Benessere, which is derived from the Italian word meaning “well-being,” the program gives guests an opportunity to renew, refresh, and revive. From all-new fitness classes and healthy menu items (including vegan, gluten-free, seasonal and local) at its acclaimed restaurants, to the latest spa treatments (including the Venus Machine skin firming regimen), and their 10,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art Technogym Fitness Center (ranked as one of the 10 best hotel fitness centers in the U.S. by by Men’s Fitness Magazine), the Biltmore’s health and fitness team now offer some of the most sought-after choices in wellness.

Benessere’s sensory experiences include their Energy Work and Chakra Healing Treatment, and since launching in February, a Full Moon Yoga & Meditation series. Taking place on every full moon, it's a perfect opportunity to cleanse negativity, set new intentions, and rejuvenate body, mind, and soul. Led by experts, the program reinvigorates participants by taking them through multiple yoga positions, exercises, and meditation, offering a mindful and serene escape while listening to soothing sounds under a bright, white moon.

Matthias Kammerer, Managing Director at the Biltmore Hotel, says, “After a year of challenges with health being at the forefront of everyone’s minds, we see an increased need for programs that cater to wellness, and now our newest enhancements provide even more options for members and hotel guests.”

With the next full moon on March 29th, the Biltmore’s wellness offerings will have guests shining bright, just like the beautiful moon.
