Eco-Beautiful is an essential beauty bible, if you will, filled with knowledgeable advise, ideas and instructional before and after photographs. Hollywood celebrity makeup artist, Lina Hanson combines her expert beauty knowledge and skill with concern for the environment to create this informative book.
Lina says in her introduction, "Eco-beauty is more than a buzzword-it’s a way of life. Becoming eco-beautiful is about being good to the environment and being good to yourself." With care and purpose, this book delivers with its great tips and tricks to the ‘do it yourself’ section guide for home remedies straight out of your pantry.
The first half of the book is dedicated to wellness from the inside out with a plethora of information about foods rich in anti-oxidents and vitamins that are preventative and beneficial for maintaining healthy skin to home made skin and hair products. A full chapter about the "Green Guy" shows men how they can be ‘eco-sexual’ with great tips on shaving to manscaping fun like mani’s and pedi’s. And of course, my favorite chapters, ‘Day And Night Looks’ which has beautiful makeup applications in a myriad of styles listing specific products to achieve each look.

As a professional makeup artist, I have found this book indispensable as my go to eco-beauty source. Eco-Beautiful is an inspiring and practical tool for the average person who can incorporate Lina’s beauty principles in to their daily life. I have been easing my way into a green lifestyle over the past year, so as a makeup artist, I found reviewing this book exciting to read. I just started incorporating natural products in my kit over six months ago and have found myself going to my Jane Iredale powders instead of my MAC ones lately, not just because I know they’re better for my clients skin but because they actually work and perform better throughout the day! After reading Eco-Beautiful, I’ve now armed myself with knowledge and wisdom that I had not had before, which I look forward to applying in my everyday life personally and with my clients. If you’re in search of the ultimate eco-beauty one-stop-shop book, you need to look no further! I give this book five stars!
